Abel Tool,LLC. prides itself in building center latch elevators with a safety pin. Investment castings of 4140 and 4130 alloy that is heat treated for strength and toughness.

The hinge pins are machined from 4140 alloy. The only welds on the unit are for the pull handles, which is not a load bearing structure, making them as strong as possible. The lifting section is rounded to prevent lifting sling damage.

The lifting section does not protrude above the deck of the tool, and no clevis is required to attach the customer supplied lifting sling. The center latch uses a simple coil spring that causes the latch to snap on the tang, ensuring a positive latching mechanism.

The hinge stop that prevents the tool from opening past center can be removed, and a grease fitting with 1/4-28 threads can be installed, allowing for pin lubrication. The 2 inch body does not have this feature, but is easy to clean and lubricate.

The 2 inch body elevators are rated for 3 tons, while the 4 inch body units are rated for 5 tons.Ratings are very conservative. We also build suction type bailing buckets in many diameters. These buckets are very useful and allow advantages over standard dart bailing buckets. The are especially useful in rust and course sand. We can custom make any diameter and stroke that is needed.
